Boston 's Leading HVAC System Contractor
Starting out as an HVAC system consulting firm, Mechanical Design Services, Inc. (MDS) has grown into one of eastern Massachusetts ' largest full service mechanical contractors. Our HVAC system work includes start to finish HVAC design/build service, related sheet metal work and installation, ventilation and cooling system jobs and digital HVAC controls. Customers generally choose MDS for preventative maintenance through a customized maintenance contract , too.

Whether your project is a small office building or a large 30-story complex, MDS has the experience to price, design, build and maintain the equipment as required. Our deliverables include the latest HVAC systems from the industry's leading suppliers, and associated ductwork, controls and piping for both Freon and chill water AC tower units. We are also skilled in designing and installing more specialized systems based on deionized water, oxygen, nitrogen and compressed air.

Ventilation, Cooling System and Sheet Metal Experts
Distributing air evenly is an important part of any HVAC system as the human body can sense temperature changes to within one degree Fahrenheit. With MDS, your HVAC air quality project will be in good hands and completed to your satisfaction.

Tools of the Trade
Our HVAC field technicians utilize many different tools when installing an HVAC system including hammers, wrenches, metal snips, electric drills, pipe cutters and benders, measurement gauges and acetylene torches. Each tool has a specialized role to play when working on refrigerant lines and air ducts. We also use testing devices such as voltmeters, thermometers, pressure gauges and manometers to guarantee proper airflow and ensure that the refrigerant is pressurized.
